Bruno’s Pizzeria

Bruno's Pizzeria is an e-commerce with order management system and table reservation built by UreTech on Wix for a pizzeria in San Lazzaro di Savena, Bologna. The project integrates a product catalog with online ordering for takeaway pizza, a web app for order management, and a table booking system, combining digital sales and dine-in service in a single platform.

Bruno's Pizzeria is a pizzeria in San Lazzaro di Savena, on the outskirts of Bologna, that wanted to fully digitize its operations by integrating online sales and dine-in service into a single platform. The pizzeria managed takeaway orders exclusively by phone – a slow system prone to communication errors that limited the volume of orders manageable during evening peak hours – and table reservations also happened only by phone, with the risk of overbooking and the need to always have someone available to answer. The venue needed a comprehensive digital solution addressing both problems: an e-commerce allowing customers to browse the menu, customize their pizza, and order takeaway with online payment, reducing wait times and errors; and a table booking system enabling customers to reserve their spot independently, at any time of day, without having to call. The technical challenge was building this dual functionality – takeaway orders and table reservations – on Wix, integrating a web app for restaurant-side order management that would allow staff to receive, view, and manage incoming orders in real time, with a simple interface usable even during the busiest evening service. Everything needed to be accessible and intuitive for a diverse local clientele – from young customers accustomed to food delivery to older patrons less familiar with technology – in the San Lazzaro di Savena area and the greater Bologna metropolitan area.
UreTech designed and developed a complete e-commerce on Wix for Bruno's Pizzeria with a warm, inviting design evoking the atmosphere of a traditional Italian pizzeria. The site features a product catalog organized by category – classic pizzas, specialty pizzas, focaccia, fried items, beverages, desserts – with photography showcasing every dish, detailed ingredient descriptions, and an intuitive online ordering system guiding customers from product selection through customization to order completion with integrated payment. For restaurant-side management, UreTech developed a dedicated web app enabling Bruno's staff to receive and manage incoming orders in real time: each new order appears with full details – products, customizations, requested pickup time, customer information – and can be confirmed, set to preparation, or completed with a simple, fast interface designed for tablet use during service. Alongside the ordering system, a table reservation system was integrated allowing customers to book a seat by selecting date, time, and number of covers, with automatic confirmation and reminders. The site structure also includes sections dedicated to the pizzeria's story, house specialties, ingredients used, and practical information – San Lazzaro di Savena address, opening hours, directions from the Bologna area – to facilitate both takeaway orders and in-person visits. The responsive layout was optimized for a mobile-first experience, considering that most orders and reservations happen from smartphones, especially in the evening when customers decide where to order from or dine in the Bologna area.

The Results

The e-commerce with order management and table booking has transformed Bruno's Pizzeria's operations, fully digitizing the venue's two main workflows: takeaway and dine-in service. The online ordering system eliminated phone dependency for takeaway, allowing customers to order independently at any time and drastically reducing communication errors on orders – customizations, ingredients, pickup times – that occurred with phone-based management. The order management web app simplified kitchen staff workflow, who receive organized, complete orders directly on a tablet without having to manually transcribe phone requests during peak hours. The table reservation system freed staff from phone-based booking management, eliminating overbooking risk and allowing customers to book 24/7 even outside opening hours. The polished menu presentation with impactful photography improved brand quality perception and sparked curiosity about house specialties, increasing average order value thanks to the ability to browse the entire catalog at leisure before ordering. The platform positions Bruno's Pizzeria for geo-targeted searches such as “pizzeria San Lazzaro di Savena,” “takeaway pizza Bologna,” and “pizzeria with online booking Bologna,” reaching customers across the Bologna metropolitan area.
